Destination highlights: Your Noosa surf getaway

Noosa is a world-famous surfing destination known for its expansive beaches and colourful bays. Noosa is not just one of Australia's most fashionable resort towns, but also home to the Noosa Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO-recognized area known for its biodiversity and an ideal destination for a surf trip in Australia. Enjoy crystalline waters fringed by subtropical rainforest before relaxing in this health-focused hub.

The designer boutiques, classy restaurants and canal-side villas of Noosa attract the beach-elite traveller, but the beach and bush are free, resulting in a healthy intermingling of urbane fashionistas and surf lifestyle.

Our Noosa surf getaways, both the 3 night experience and the 7 night tour are some of the most popular choices amongst our Australian destinations. Noosa’s stunning beaches, lakes, national parks, and lush hinterland offer an unbeatable experience for women who are looking to combine luxury with a surfing vacation.

There are plenty of variations in wave style and power in Noosa, from the punchy short-board wave of Main Beach to the longboarder’s dream of Little Cove.

While on tour, and always depending on conditions, we normally explore the surf breaks around the Caloundra area, where there is a great variety of waves for all levels and abilities. Some of the best spots include:

Noosa beach

Kings Beach

Kings Beach is the most protected surf beach in Queensland from northeast winds, being closest to Caloundra. During spring and much of summer, northeast winds make all other Sunshine Coast beaches choppy (not good for surfing), while at Kings Beach the waves are smooth and easy to ride.

Dicky Beach

Dicky is protected from southerly winds, but the waves can be short and dumpy (good for more experienced surfers) with the right sandbanks, small swell, and south or west winds conditions can also be excellent for beginners.

Happy Valley

There is no better place to learn to surf on the Sunshine Coast than here, especially in northerly winds. Since Happy Valley is unpatrolled, it is recommended that you do a lesson here with our instructor who has experience with the conditions. Beginner surfers of all ages can enjoy the long, gently rolling waves here.

Currimundi

In offshore westerly winds and with smaller swells, the conditions are good for beginners to intermediate surfers. At this location, there are fewer crowds than at the other beaches, and it's best during the winter months and early mornings throughout the year with a more gentle breaking beach break than at most areas of the coast. Ann Street Reef is also the location of advanced coaching sessions for competitive surfers.
